better blogger

i want to be a better blogger. i want a new name for my blog.

unfortunately, these days my time ought to be spent writing...

-multiple reflections due days ago and the final product due in a few weeks
-a 10 page paper due in 10 days (a page a day, now that's ambitious...)
-3 health lessons/activities (that i've known about how long?!)
-a philosophy
-a sample of my teacherly work

instead of attempting to improve upon this creation. sooner or later, will return. blog, you have not been forgotten.

Hilary

My mom works with this real sweet lady Darlene, whose daughter was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (could have butchered that a bit) back in April. Over the last couple of weeks, it's been touch and go on whether or not she would be lose her leg. This past week, they received wonderful news that she would indeed get to keep her leg.

You can read more about her story here.

Sweet Summer Time.

I honestly believe that we all start our blog with the intentions of updating it frequently. There were days when I would log on just to admire the site I had created. Then came the posts every couple of days...then weeks and here I find myself just over one month since the last time I posted. I think it's also been a month since we used that slip and slide as well. Today I signed in and found that Emily Geyer had began to follow my blog so I clicked over to check hers out...something I used to do much more often and was encouraged (more like shamed :)) into making an effort to post more often.

I very much enjoy telling stories and have a unique way of doing so, but I have yet to see that translate over into the written format. Like all things, it probably takes a little practice, which if you grew up playing any sport with me, you'd know I have no time for these things. (Except gymnastics, which I loved to practice and was no good at...of course.)

Moving on. Here's a rundown of the next five (or possibly six) weeks (until I start school again). You'll see that my possible blog topics are not limited. It's just a matter of crafting an interesting story.

- Holiday World with three of my favorite fellas.
- Holiday World again with college buddies.
- Destin, FL with two awesome families. (yes, I finally landed that "take your nanny along babysitting gig".)
- The Queens of the Diamond (in our pretty in pink uniforms...there's a picture idea) playing in the state tournament in August and the WORLD SERIES in September.
- Flag Football in ATL (while possibly catching a pre-season Falcons game with the one and only AshMill.)
- And my final year of school begins. With me teaching middle and high schoolers. Which maybe just maybe scares me a little. I mean what if they don't listen to me. Or one wants to hit me in the face.
